Journey to the country
of the Pharaonen 28.02.2003 |
To 28.02.03 the KLM started its culture journey into the oldest
realm of the earth. In the late evening 30 KLM travelers met in Cairo
in a great hotel. |

Members and non-members from
all parts of Germany and our KLM Europapraesident from Switzerland
participated in the journey. On the early morning of the next
daily it went then loosely to the inspection of the ruins from
Memphis. Here approx. 3000 v developed. Chr. the first Egyptian
realm and the time of the Pharaonen began. Subsequently, we
visited the first stufenpyramide 2670 v. Chr. in Sakarra and then
the famous three pyramids of Gizeh approx. 2500 v. Chr. with the
sphinx. The taking fatiguing then in the evening still Cairo at
night from above from a turning restaurant regarded. |
At the 3. Day was visited then
the large Egyptian museum, among other things with the grave
treasure of the Tutenchamun. After the attendance of the largest
Middle East bazaar "Khan el-Khalili" we flew this before 2 years
activated Nile cruise ship in the evening to Luxor and went on
board the ms Magic II. became for the remainder of the journey our
exzellentes accomodation. The meal was so good and plentiful that
so some Mitreisende must probably insert a chamfering cure after
the vacation.

In the next days Horus
alternated -, Karnak and Luxor temples with Botani garden,
Beduinendorf and Aswan dam. On the way we were with sailing boat (Felluke),
kutsche, motorboat, camel naturally again and again and with our
cruise ship. Sufficient time was by the travels on the Nile on
sun-hits a corner itself between the trips to recover. Some of us
made still another excursion with the airplane after Abu Simbel.

For this one had to rise at
3.00 o'clock, however we were punctual at 6.00 o'clock to the
sunrise in the temple plant, which presents itself turned toward
the east in a wonderful light. The entrance to the temple is
framed by 20 m high Kolossalstatuen of Ramses II.. Also after
2000-3500 years the well received buildings of the Pharaonen with
partly still well visible colors impressed us deeply.

After 10 days it was called
parting then for most of us takes and back in cold Germany. For
four members of the group there was still another one-week
extension in form of one bath vacation in Hurghada. We thank our
travel guide Mustafa for clarifying all questions and Klaus Fey
for the organization of the journey.
